Indian River County 4-H Dogmasters Club

Even if you don't have a dog, children from the ages of 8 to 18 can join the Indian River County 4-H Dogmaster Club. There are many projects to do including basic dog obedience and training. Dog grooming, care and breeding, helping with Pet Therapy and Assistance training. Children learn to vote in officers, run their own meetings and plan their goals for the year. Self confidence and team work is gained by participating in demonstrations or speeches before their club mates, and helping each other in giving back by doing community service projects. Some of the fun things to do in Dogmasters are learning Agility training, participate in Shows and Parades. The Annual Howl-o-Ween Party is always a smash hit with the dogs and their humans! This year's date is Saturday, October 24, 2009 from 3 to 6 pm.   More...

"Business" meetings without dogs will be held at the Indian River County Extension Service office every 2nd Tuesday of the month from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. The Project and Training meetings with dogs are held at the Dogs For Life Off Leash Park at 12th Street and 16th Avenue, Vero Beach on designated Saturday mornings.
