TROPICANA PUBLIC SPEAKING
Florida 4-H is very proud of the 4-H/Tropicana Public Speaking Contest. This contest involves thousands of young people annually in grades 4 - 5 in forty counties across the Sunshine State. Youth learn valuable skills in speechwriting and delivery, and gain confidence in their abilities.
Four-H agents work with schoolteachers to develop this program in local schools, and many communities enjoy classroom, school-wide and even county-wide public speaking contests. Young people participating in the event give speeches about things they enjoy while developing valuable life skills.
The 4-H/Tropicana Public Speaking Contest can help fulfill the Sunshine State standards. If you are a teacher who would like more information about the 4-H/Tropicana Public Speaking Contest, please contact the Indian River County Extension office at (772) 770-5030.
