Agriculture

Agricultural programs help farmers, ranchers, nurserymen, and agribusinesses make the best of IFAS agricultural research information.  These programs show how to grow, market, process, and use local farm products, and how to adjust to changing economic conditions.

Programs teach effective soil, water, and energy management in agricultural production.  Great emphasis is placed on farm safety, and the safe use of pesticides.  The Extensions' aim is to protect the Florida environment (especially groundwater and surface water quality), while showing producers how to manage pests, select vigorous disease-resistant crop varieties, and attain the best production rates by the most economical methods.
